Currently, the Moto G lineup includes not just budget phones such as the Moto G22, G31, G52, etc., but also the high-end phones such as the Moto G100 and Moto G200. While we already have the G2x, G3x, G4x, G5x, G6x, and G7x lineup under this series, there is no Moto G8x lineup. Well, that will happen now as the Moto G82 is launching soon. This will be a mid-range phone, and we now have the images of the phone and also the specifications, thanks to 91Mobiles.
Design-wise, the Moto G82 looks like other Moto G series phones of this year and the year before. So, there is a flat panel on the front with a hole punch cutout in the middle, a triple camera setup on the back, a fingerprint scanner on the right side, and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom. The phone has an IP52 rating as well, so regular spills of water should not cause much damage.
Speaking of the specifications, Moto G82 is powered by the Snapdragon 695 5G SOC. This is the same chipset that powers Moto G71, launched in January. The phone has up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB storage that is expandable. There is a 5,000mAH battery and support for 33W fast charging. There is a 50MP primary sensor on the rear, an 8MP sensor for the ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. For selfies, there is a 16MP sensor.
So far, the specifications are the same as the Moto G71. The main USP of the Moto G82 is the display, as it is a 6.55-inch P-OLED with a Full-HD+ resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate. In comparison, the Moto G71 has a 60Hz AMOLED. The G82 also has OIS for the primary rear camera, something the Moto G71 lacks.
Well, that’s all about the Moto G82, codenamed ‘Rhode 5G+’. In terms of specs, this is just the Moto G71 but with a high-refresh-rate panel and OIS for the primary rear camera. We do not know the price yet, but there should not be a big difference between the price of G71 and G81. The Moto G71 launched in India at ₹18,999, so if the Moto G82 launches in India, expect the price to start at around ₹20,000.
