Moto G31 to start at ₹12,999 in India, launching tomorrow

FHD+ OLED, Helio G85 & more

Earlier this month, Motorola launched a handful of new G series phones named the G71, G51, G41, and the G31. Tomorrow, i.e., on the 29th of November, Motorola is launching the Moto G31 smartphone in the Indian market, and ahead of tomorrow’s launch, we have got the pricing already. The price of the phone for India was shared by Yogesh Brar on Twitter.

The starting price of Moto G31 is ₹12,999, and at this price, you are getting 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. There is also a 6GB + 128GB variant that is launching at ₹14,999. So, the base variant seems like a great value for money!

Moto G31

The Moto G31 gets a Full-HD+ OLED panel on the front, which is something we don’t often see in the sub-Rs 15,000 price segment, especially from brands like Motorola. It is a 60Hz panel. It is worth mentioning that in March this year, the Moto G30 launched in India with a 90Hz panel, but it was an LCD instead of an OLED.

Under the hood, G31 has the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, which is a pretty solid SOC for budget phones. The phone gets either 4GB or 6GB LPDDR4X RAM paired with 64GB of 128GB storage. There is a 5,000mAh battery which is the same size as the Moto G30, but in terms of charging, the phone comes with a 10W charger in the box. Now, that’s for the global market, so we hope for the Indian market, this phone gets at least the same 20W TurboCharging as the Moto G30.

The camera module on the back includes a triple camera setup on the back where there is a primary 50MP sensor, a secondary 8MP ultrawide, and a third 2MP macro shooter. For a budget phone, that’s not a bad camera setup at all, at least on paper. And finally, Android 11 runs out of the box.

The source that shared the price also said that the phone would get one major Android upgrade and two years of security upgrades. This basically means Android 12 will be the only OS update for the Moto G31.
