Almost a month after the launch of the Moto G30 in Europe, the company launched the phone in India today at a price of Rs 10,999. For comparison, it launched in Europe at a price equivalent to around Rs 15,500. As the pricing shows, it is a budget offering from the brand, and for this price, it comes with a 90Hz screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SOC, a 64 Megapixel Quad camera array, and stock Android experience.
Since it is a budget phone, it is no surprise that there is a polycarbonate build. Like most of the phones at this price segment, there is a rectangular camera island that houses four cameras, and the LED flash in it. The fingerprint scanner is positioned on the back as well. The volume rockers are placed on the right along with the power button and a dedicated Google Assistant key. On the front, the display has a waterdrop notch, not a hole-punch cutout. There is also a noticeable bottom chin. The USB Type-C port is there on the bottom, while the 3.5mm headphone jack is on the top.
Speaking of the specs, the Moto G30 features a 6.5-inch LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate, and while it does seem like a great combination, one thing that you shouldn’t forget is that it is a 720p panel. Under the hood, there is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SOC which is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. There is a hybrid SIM slot, so you can add a microSD card if you want to expand the storage.
The phone has a big 5,000mAh battery underneath and supports 20W Turbocharging as well. Android 11 runs out of the box, and in typical Motorola fashion, we get a close-to-stock Android experience.
Speaking of the cameras, Moto G30 has a Quad camera setup on the back that includes a primary 64 Megapixel shooter that is paired with an 8 Megapixel ultrawide, a macro, and a depth sensor. There is a 13 Megapixel camera on the front for taking selfies.
Some other features include NFC, Thinkshield for Mobile, IP52 rating, 2.4Ghz & 5GHz WiFi support, and 2X2 MIMO technology.
The two colors in which the G30 launched in India are named Pastel Sky and Dark Pearl. There is only one storage option for the Indian market, and it is priced at Rs 10,999. Moto G30 will go on sale on the 17th of March, and you can buy it via Flipkart.
