MediaTek Dimensity 700 launched – A 7nm chipset with 5G support

MediaTek expands its portfolio of Dimensity chipset with the all-new Dimensity 700 which is now the cheapest 5G chip that MediaTek currently offers. Prior to this chipset, we had the Dimensity 720 as the cheapest 5G chipset from MediaTek for the budget phones & we saw this chip powering phones such as the Realme V3 5G, Relame V5 5G, Huawei Enjoy 20 Series etc. Just like the Dimensity 720, the MediaTek Dimensity 700 is a 7nm chipset with an integrated 5G modem. Some of the notable features of this new chip include 5G Carrier Aggregation, 5G Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS), VoNR services (Voice over New Radio) etc.

MediaTek Dimensity 700

The Dimensity 700 chipset comes with an octa-core CPU that has four High-Performance Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2.2GHz & four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. There is Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU with 950MHz frequency. So compared to the Dimensity 720, the Dimensity 700 has High-Performance cores with higher clock speed (2.2GHz vs 2.0GHz) but a less powerful GPU (G57 MC2 vs G57 MC3).

MediaTek Dimensity 700 supports up to 90Hz 1080p+ display & 64MP main camera sensor. But while the Dimensity 720 offers support 4K 30fps video recording, Dimensity 700 supports up to 1080p 30fps video recording.

So that’s all about the Dimensity 700 from MediaTek & soon we will see phones powered by this new chipset.
