The latest offering from Realme comes in the form of a budget smartphone under a new “V” series. It is named Realme V5 5G & as the name suggests, this phone also supports 5G networks, making it the cheapest 5G smartphone that Realme has launched so far. In fact, at a starting price of 1,499 Yuan or $215, it is now the cheapest 5G smartphone currently in the Chinese market.
It won’t be wrong to say that Realme took some design notes from Honor because the phone looks very similar to the Honor 30 from the back – a similar camera setup design & a similar huge company’s logo. Anyways, the design is striking, which makes the V5 look very different from other Realme phones launched so far.
There is a side-facing fingerprint scanner & on the front, the phone has a single punch-hole selfie camera. There is a USB Type-C port on the bottom & the phone does have a headphone jack.
The biggest USP of the Realme V5 5G is that it supports 5G networks and that’s all thanks to the MediaTek Dimensity 720 5G chipset which is based on 7nm manufacturing process. There is 6/8GB LDDR4X RAM paired with 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. Thanks to Dimensity 720, the phone supports SA/NSA dual-mode 5G.
Talking about other specs, the V5 5G comes with a 6.5-inch LCD panel on the front with Full-HD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 180Hz touch-sampling rate. The display has Gorilla Glass protection on top.
Realme V5 5G has a 5,000mAh battery & 30W Fast Charging support. On the back, there is a Quad camera array that includes a primary 48 Megapixel camera, a secondary 8 Megapixel ultra-wide lens, a third 2 Megapixel macro & a fourth 2 Megapixel B&W sensor. On the front, there is a 16 Megapixel selfie camera.
