In August, the Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max were officially launched in China, where the K100 Pro featured the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V series chip and the K100 Pro Max featured the regular Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Both phones featured massive silicon-carbon batteries – 8,580mAh in the K100 Pro and 9,070mAh in the K100 Pro Max. Well, the brand is all set to launch the vanilla model, the Redmi K100, in the Chinese market. The official launch is scheduled for October 27, and while we still have a couple of days left, the details are already known.

Design-wise, the Redmi K100 looks almost identical to the other phones in this series. The only major difference is a dual-camera setup on the rear instead of a triple-camera setup. Still, the phone has the same camera bar on the back where the dual cameras are placed on one end and the ‘Sound by Bose’ branding on the other end. There is a flat panel on the front with a hole punch cutout for the selfie camera. There is a metal frame.
The Redmi K100 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the same SOC that powered the Redmi K90. The Snapdragon 8 Elite was launched in October 2024, so it is a two-year-old chipset.
However, one of the biggest upgrades this time is the battery size. The K100 has a massive 10,000mAh battery, the biggest among all the K100 series phones. For comparison, the Redmi K90 was launched last year with a 7,100mAh battery. The charging speed is 100W.
On the rear, the primary camera has a 1/1.55″ 50MP sensor with an f/1.68 aperture lens. The phone is IP68-certified and has an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner. The display is a 6.83-inch OLED panel with up to 165Hz refresh rate and 3500 nits of peak brightness.
The Redmi K100 Pro and Redmi K100 Pro Max were launched in the global market as the Poco F9 Pro and Poco F9 Ultra, respectively. So, we won’t be surprised if the Redmi K100 is launched globally as the Poco F9.
