Almost a week ago, LG Velvet was officially announced as the upcoming premium-looking phone from LG and the first smartphone under the new branding strategy. Today, LG posted the video of the phone on its YouTube channel, which gave us a good look at the design from every angle. Moreover, this video also confirmed that this is a mid-range device instead of a flagship.
Well, the LG Velvet is a mid-range device featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 5G SOC and a gorgeous design. The design is the main USP of this phone, and LG calls it a “stylish, tactilely pleasing design”. There is a raindrop camera setup on the rear, and it is named so because the camera lenses are placed in the descending order by size. Only the primary (topmost) camera on the rear has a bump and rest of the two cameras are under the back glass.
LG Velvet is coming in at least four colors – Green, Black, White and a Gradient color. The phone does have a 3.55headphone jack, and it is placed on the bottom alongside the USB Type-C port. On the front, there is a tiny notch on the top that houses the single selfie camera. In the official video, it is shown that there are almost no bezels on the sides.
LG calls this design a ‘3D Arc’ design because the front, as well as the back glass, are curved on the sides.
LG has not yet announced when the phone is launching, but there are rumours of launch happening on May 15th. So. there is still less than a month left. Finally, here is the video that shows the design of the phone from all the angles –
