The iQOO Neo 8 series was launched in China in May, featuring the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 & Dimensity 9200+ chipsets. Today, the brand launched the Neo 9 series in China with some big upgrades and ridiculously aggressive pricing. In this article, we will discuss the iQOO Neo 9, a flagship phone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SOC.
The design is revamped this time compared to the iQOO Neo 8. The Neo 8 had a square camera module with a dual camera setup but the Neo 9 has two big circular modules on the back, each with a camera sensor. The design is pretty similar to the Asus Zenfone 10.
The weight is 7.99mm for the blue & black variants, and 8.34mm for the dual-tone color option. The thickness is 190g for the dual-tone color, and 196g for the other two colors. The phone has a flat display and flat sides. There is a stereo speaker setup, and an X-axis linear motor.
Under the hood, the iQOO Neo 9 has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, an upgrade over the Neo 8’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. There is LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The battery is 5,160mAh, and the phone supports 120W fast wired charging.
The dual camera setup on the rear includes a primary 50MP Sony IMX920 sensor, the same camera sensor as the flagship Vivo X100. It is a 1/1.49″ sensor with OIS. The second camera has an 8MP sensor and shoots ultrawide photos. The selfie shooter has a 16MP sensor. The primary rear camera supports 8K video recording.
The display is a 6.78-inch 1.5K (2800×1260 pixels) AMOLED with 10-bit colors and up to a 144Hz refresh rate. This is an 8T LTPO panel, which means the refresh rate can go as low as 1Hz and as high as 144Hz when required. The panel supports 2,160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.
Finally, iQOO Neo 9 runs on Android 14-based OriginOS 4.
