The iQOO Neo 7 was launched in China in October last year, featuring the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SOC. Later in December, the company launched iQOO Neo 7 SE in the Chinese market with Dimensity 8200, launched in India as the iQOO Neo 7. And in the same month, iQOO launched the Neo 7 Racing Edition in China with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Today, the company launched the Neo 8 series in the Chinese market, including the iQOO Neo 8 & Neo 8 Pro. The main upgrade is in the design & performance.

iQOO NEO 8

iQOO Neo 8 has an upgraded design compared to the iQOO Neo 7. The redesigned camera module gives this phone a fresh and bold look. Apart from the Black & Green colors, the phone comes in a Red color option with a leather texture on the rear and a carbon fiber finish on the camera module. This Red color option also has some extra text below the camera module, which is not present in the other two colors.

The phone has a massive 5,000mm square Vapor Chamber for better thermals. There is a stereo speaker setup, an IR blaster, a dual X-axis linear motor, and a pressure-sensitive display.

Under the hood, the phone has Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, the same SOC which powered the iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition. There is 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5 RAM paired with 256GB or 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.

There are two cameras on the rear. The primary camera has a 50MP Samsung GN5 sensor with OIS, and the secondary camera has a 2MP depth sensor. There is no ultrawide camera on this phone. The selfie shooter has a 16MP sensor. The primary camera can shoot up to 8K videos.

iQOO Neo 8 also features the Vivo V1+ chip that handles the image processing tasks and improves the gaming experience.

On the front, iQOO Neo 8 has a 6.78-inch 10-bit AMOLED display with a 2800×1260 pixels resolution. The refresh rate is up to 144Hz, and the peak brightness is 1300 nits.

The phone has a 5,000mAh battery and supports 120W fast charging. Finally, Android 13 runs out of the box with OriginOS 13 on top.

iQOO Neo 8 comes in three colors, and here is the pricing for the Chinese market –

  • 12GB + 256GB – ¥2499 (~$355)
  • 12GB + 512GB – ¥2799 (~$397)
  • 16GB + 512GB – ¥3099 (~$440)

iQOO NEO 8 PRO

The iQOO Neo 8 Pro is not much different than the vanilla model. The design remains unchanged, and so do the color options.

As for the other similarities, Neo 8 Pro has the same display as Neo 8, battery, and charging speed.

The main difference between the two is performance. iQOO Neo 8 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset, the most powerful chip by MediaTek in the market. The phone has faster LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Another difference is in the cameras. The dual camera setup on the rear includes a 50MP Sony IMX866 sensor with OIS & an 8MP ultrawide.

And well, those are the only differences between the Neo 8 & Neo 8 Pro.

Here is the pricing for the Chinese market –

  • 16GB + 256GB – ¥3299 (~$468)
  • 16GB + 512GB – ¥3599 (~$511)

The iQOO Neo 8 series will go on sale in the Chinese market on May 31.
