The iQOO 12 was launched in China last month with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and today, the phone was launched in India. This makes it the first phone in India with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SOC. The same happened earlier this year when the iQOO 11 was launched in India as the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone.
iQOO phones are known for their price-to-performance ratio, and with the iQOO 12, the company took it to the next level. The best way to understand this is by comparing the iQOO 11 & 12 starting prices in India. The iQOO 11 was launched at ₹59,999, while the 12 starts at ₹52,999! On top of that, after bank offers, the start price goes as low as ₹49,999. This is a very aggressive price for a phone with the most powerful Qualcomm chip.
We already know all the details, but to recap, the iQOO 12 has a new camera module design, IP64 certification, a flat display, stereo speakers, an X-axis linear motor, and an under-display fingerprint sensor. The display is a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED with up to 144Hz refresh rate, and 3000 nits peak brightness. There is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SOC, 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, and 256GB/512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The battery is 5,000mAh, and the phone supports 120W fast charging.
The triple camera setup on the rear includes a primary camera with a 50MP 1/1.3-inch OV50H sensor with OIS, an ultrawide camera with a 50MP sensor, and a periscope telephoto camera with a 64MP sensor, OIS, f/2.57 lens, and 3x optical zoom. The selfie shooter has a 16MP sensor.
