Huawei has delayed the launch of its P series flagships since, generally, we used to see them launching in the first quarter of the year. Well, yesterday, Huawei announced the next version of its HarmonyOS, the HarmonyOS 2.0. At that event, the brand took some time to showcase as well as tease some upcoming devices. The official promo of the Huawei P50 Series was also shown at the event, and the promo confirmed the design that all the leaks and rumours have been showing us for a long time now.
So yes, the Huawei P50 series comes with an interesting camera setup design on the rear that includes an egg-shaped module housing two big circles that, in turn, have the camera lenses in them. The circle on the top has the triple cameras, whereas the bottom one has the periscope lens and one of the two flash modules. The promo shows the premium-looking gold color option, and as we can see, there is a matte finish on the back except for the camera module, which has a shiny finish.
The video also showed that the focal length varies from 18mm to 125mm. This hints at a 5X Optical Zoom camera, at least on the lower-end model. While we didn’t get to see the front, we have seen in the CAD renders that on the front, both the P50 and the P50 Pro have a centered hole-punch cutout, but while the P50 Pro has a curved display, the vanilla P50 settles for a flat panel.
@RODENT950, who is a well-known source regarding Huawei and Honor smartphones, shared the above image almost a month ago, so kudos to him for that. It most probably shows the P50 Pro since there is a curved display on the front, something we are not expecting to see on the vanilla model.
Well, Huawei has not revealed when the P50 Series will launch, so we have to wait for the launch date.
