Last month, the Honor 80 series went official in the Chinese market. While the Honor 80 is a premium mid-range phone with Snapdragon 782G chipset, the 80 Pro is a high-end phone with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SOC. Now, Digital Chat Station has revealed on Weibo that a new variant of the 80 Pro is launching soon. The main difference between this new variant and the 80 Pro launched last month is the display. The new variant has a flat-screen instead of a curved one.
Digital Chat Station shared the render of the phone on Weibo, and design-wise, the only difference is on the front. Apart from a flat display, there is a single selfie camera instead of a dual camera setup.
The rear camera module design remains the same. Regarding specs, there is the same Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SOC and a 4,800mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. The display specs are different. While the Honor 80 Pro with a curved display has a 1.5K 120Hz 10-bit OLED panel, the flat display variant has a Full-HD+ 120Hz 10-bit OLED. The selfie camera has a 32MP sensor, compared to a 50MP + 2MP setup on the curved display variant.
Regarding the rear camera setup, the primary camera has the same 160MP sensor, but the ultrawide camera has an 8MP sensor instead of a 50MP sensor. There is a third 2MP sensor.
Finally, there is an under-display fingerprint scanner and a plastic frame.
