Vivo X50 Pro+, X50 Pro & X50 officially launched in China

The Vivo X50 Series is finally official in China & as the leaked revealed, there are three phones under this series, two of which are mid-range devices whereas one is a flagship. There is the flagship Vivo X50 Pro+ & the two mid-rangers named Vivo X50 Pro & Vivo X50. The price starts at 3,498 Yuan ($490) for the X50 & goes up to 5,998 Yuan ($840) for the X50 Pro+.

VIVO X50 & X50 PRO – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS

The X50 & X50 Pro might have similarities in terms of the specs, but in terms of the design, they look different. The Vivo X50 comes with a punch-hole design & a flat display on the front whereas the Vivo X50 Pro comes with a curved hole-punch display. Both phones have Quad cameras on the rear, but the design of the camera module is different for both.

Both phones lack a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Vivo X50 comes with a 6.56-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED panel featuring HDR10+ support. The aspect ratio is 19.8:9 & this isn’t a high-refresh-rate panel.

The Vivo X50 Pro has the same-sized display, but not only it is curved on the sides, but the display features 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch-sampling rate. Thanks to the minimal bezels, the screen-to-body ratio is 92.6%.

Both phones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G 5G SOC & both come with 8GB RAM paired with 128/256GB UFS 2.1 storage. There isn’t much difference in the battery size as well. The X50 comes with a 4,200mAh battery whereas X50 Pro has a 4,315mAh battery. Both phones support 33W Fast Wired Charging.

Coming to the cameras now, the Vivo X50 comes with a Quad camera setup on the rear that includes a primary 48 Megapixel camera with a custom Sony IMX589 sensor, 4-axis OIS & 7P lens, a 13 Megapixel secondary telephoto camera with 2X Optical Zoom & up to 20X Digital Zoom, an 8 Megapixel 120-degree ultrawide camera, and a 5 Megapixel Macro camera.

The Vivo X50 Pro has Quad cameras as well & there is a primary 48 Megapixel Sony IMX589 custom sensor with gimbal-like stabilization which is much better than OIS that the Vivo X50 has. The secondary camera is a 13 Megapixel 2X Telephoto, and there is a third 8 Megapixel ultrawide camera. Finally, the fourth camera is an 8 Megapixel periscope camera featuring 5X Optical Zoom & up to 60X Digital Zoom.

Both Vivo X50 & X50 Pro have a 32 Megapixel front-facing camera. Funtouch OS 10.5 based on Android 10.0 runs out of the box.

VIVO X50 PRO+ – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS

While the design of X50 Pro+ is similar to that of the X50 Pro, the main USP of it is the 50 Megapixel Samsung GN1 sensor on the back. This makes the Vivo X50 Pro+ world’s first smartphone with this new sensor. It is a big 1/1.3″ sensor. Now one thing to note is that the Gimbal Stabilization is only there for the Vivo X50 Pro. So even if the X50 Pro+ is a flagship, it doesn’t have Gimbal-like Stabilization. (Thanks, Aamir Siddiqui).

Apart from the primary camera, the rest of the cameras are the same as the X50 Pro. So there is a 13 Megapixel 2X Telephoto, an 8 Megapixel ultrawide & an 8 Megapixel 5X Periscope camera.

Since it is a flagship, there is Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G chipset, 8/12GB RAM + 256GB storage, & a 6.56-inch OLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate.
