Specifications of Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, a 4nm chip, leaked

This is the first 6 series SOC built on the 4nm process

Qualcomm introduced the new naming scheme for its chipsets last year with the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Then the same happened with the 7 series, and we got Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 this year. Now, the same is going to happen with the 6 series. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 is set to launch soon, and even before the official announcement, the specifications of the chipset are out, thanks to Evan Blass, who shared the full spec sheet on Twitter.

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 is the first 6-series SOC built on the 4nm process. The part number is “SM6450”. It has an octa-core Kryo CPU clocked at up to 2.2GHz and an Adreno GPU. There is the Snapdragon X62 modem for 5G support, and it supports both mmWave and sub-6 GHz 5G. The SOC supports up to 120Hz Full-HD+ displays and 4K HDR video recording at 30fps. There is Qualcomm FastConnect 6700 system, Wi-Fi 6E support, Bluetooth 5.2 support, LE Audio support, Qualcomm aptx Voice, aptx Lossless, and aptx Adaptive support.

The chipset also comes with LPDDR5 RAM support up to 12GB. For comparison, Snapdragon 695 5G supports LPDDR4X RAM.

We do not know details such as the configuration of the CPU or the model of the GPU, so we will have to wait for this information to either be revealed unofficially or by the company.

Since the spec sheet are out, the official announcement should be happening pretty soon. Stay tuned.
