The Galaxy “M” series includes Samsung’s budget phones, and so far, the “M5x” phones have been the most feature-packed phones under this series. In April, we got the Galaxy M53 which featured Dimensity 900 SOC, a 120Hz AMOLED display, a 108MP camera, and more. Today, a report by Appuals suggests that the successor of M53 is launching soon. It will be called the Samsung Galaxy M54, and as per this new leak, the phone will launch with Snapdragon 888 SOC.
Yes, this isn’t a typo! As per the leak, this phone is launching with Qualcomm’s flagship chip of 2021. The source from which Appuals got these details is a video of the “The Pixel” YouTube channel. We are not sure whether this leak is 100% accurate but still, “The Pixel” has a pretty solid record when it comes to leaks.
Speaking of the leaked specifications, Samsung Galaxy M54 features a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display with up to 90Hz refresh rate. For comparison, the Galaxy M53 has a 120Hz Super AMOLED display. The triple camera setup on the rear includes a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 5MP macro shooter. For comparison, the Galaxy M53 has a 108MP primary camera. There is a 32MP selfie camera.
The battery size is 6,000mAh which is bigger than the 5,000mAh battery of Galaxy M53. The charging speed is the same i.e, 25W. The phone has at least 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
Well, we can see that there are downgrades from the Galaxy M53. For example, a 90Hz display (vs. 120Hz) and a 64MP sensor (vs. 108MP). But regarding the performance, this phone gets a massive upgrade in the form of a Snapdragon 888. The Dimensity 900 SOC of the Galaxy M53 is nowhere near the Snapdragon 888 in terms of performance.
As per the source, the price in Vietnam is expected to be around 10 Million VND which translates to around $414 or ₹34,000. The launch date is not yet known, but the phone is expected to launch by the end of this year or in early 2023.
