Redmi K20 Pro Snapdragon 855 Plus-powered version unveiled

In May this year, Redmi K20 & K20 Pro launched in the Chinese market & later in other markets like India. Today, Redmi launched the upgraded version of the K20 Pro with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus SOC. The Chinese translation suggests the name to be “Redmi K20 Pro Premium Edition”, but we don’t know at what name will it come to other markets, in case Redmi has any plans to launch it outside China.

There isn’t anything new in the design. The only difference is that there is now a more powerful SOC inside & more RAM & storage. It comes in three storage options – 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 512GB & 12GB + 512GB.

The Snapdragon 855+ powering the phone is an upgrade to the Snapdragon 855 & has higher clock speeds of 2.96GHz for the CPU. The main upgrade comes in the form of GPU, which is now 15% faster, so this means you are going to get better gaming experience. This is the same SOC that’s going to power the upcoming OnePlus 7T & 7T Pro, so maybe that’s the reason Redmi decided to upgrade its K20 Pro with this newer chip.

Finally, here is the pricing of Redmi K20 Pro Premium Edition in China –

  • 8GB + 128GB – 2,699 Yuan
  • 8GB + 512GB – 2,999 Yuan
  • 12GB + 512GB – 3,199 Yuan

We don’t have any information about the launch in markets outside China.
