The Redmi A3 was launched in India in February, featuring a MediaTek Helio G36 chipset, a 5,000mAh battery, and a stylish rear design. The Redmi A3x is set to launch in the Indian market soon, and while the company has not announced the phone in India, the global website has listed the device with all the features.
There is no change in the design language, so the phone has a circular camera module on the rear with a dual camera setup, a waterdrop notch on the front for the selfie camera, a flat frame, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The color options are Midnight Black, Moonlight White, and Aurora Green.
In terms of specifications, there is no difference apart from the chipset. While the Redmi A3 featured a Helio G36 SOC, the Redmi A3x has the UNISOC T603 SOC. The UNISOC T603 is built on the 22nm process and has an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 1.8GHz. This sounds like a significant downgrade from the Helio G36, which is built on the 12nm process and has a CPU clocked at up to 2.2GHz. The phone has 3GB or 4GB LPDDR4X RAM with 64GB or 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage.
The rest of the specifications are the same as Redmi A3. There is a 6.71-inch 720p LCD with up to 90Hz refresh rate and 500 nits brightness. There is a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging, an 8MP primary rear camera, and a 5MP selfie camera. The phone runs on Android 14, and the company has promised two major Android OS updates.
The Redmi A3 was launched in India at ₹7,299, so the Redmi A3x will launch under ₹7,000.
