The Poco X5 5G is the brand’s latest budget offering; as the name suggests, it is cheaper than its “Pro” counterpart, which we discussed in our previous article. The phone looks quite similar to the X5 Pro 5G, mainly due to the design of the camera module. The price starts at $249 / €249, and this phone won’t be available in the Indian market, unlike the X5 Pro 5G.
Poco X5 5G has flat sides, a 3.5mm headphone jack, an IR blaster, a Type-C port on the bottom, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone does not look as premium as the X5 Pro from the front because the display on the front has a noticeable bottom bezel.
As for the specs, there is a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1200 nits peak brightness, and a Full-HD+ resolution. Unlike the Poco X5 Pro 5G, this isn’t a 10-bit display.
The chipset is a Snapdragon 695 5G, with 6GB or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB or 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. The storage is expandable via a microSD card. The battery size is 5,000mAh, and there is 33W fast charging support. The phone comes with a 33W adapter in the box.
There is a triple camera setup on the rear that includes a 48MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The rear camera shoots 1080p videos but only up to 30fps. The selfie camera has a 13MP sensor.
Finally, MIUI 13 runs out of the box, unlike the Poco X5 Pro 5G, which has MIUI 14.
Here is the pricing for the global market –
- 6GB + 128GB – $249 / €249
- 8GB + 256GB – $299 / €299
Poco is offering an early-bird discount, so the 6GB variant will be available for $199 / €199 and the 8GB variant for $249 / €249.
