The Oppo Reno 10 series was officially launched in China in May and included three smartphones – Reno 10, Reno 10 Pro & Reno 10 Pro+. All three phones had the same design language and the main difference between the three was the performance & cameras. The Reno 10 had the Snapdragon 778G, the Reno 10 Pro had the Dimensity 8200, and the Reno 10 Pro+ had the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
Today, the Oppo Reno 11 series was launched in China which, for now, includes two smartphones – Reno 11 & Reno 11 Pro. Like every new Reno series, there is a design upgrade over the previous series.
OPPO RENO 11
The Oppo Reno 11 gets a new camera module design than the predecessor. It is still an oval-shaped camera module but it now has two circular regions, one with two sensors, and the other with the third sensor. The LED flash is placed outside the camera module. And ofcourse, there are new color options.
The phone weighs 184g, slightly heavier than the Reno 10 (180g). The thickness has also increased slightly from 7.58mm to 7.66mm (7.59mm for the black option). One of the reasons for this slight increase in weight and thickness is a larger 4,800mAh battery (versus 4,600mAh). The charging speed is reduced to 67W, versus 80W.
The chip is the MediaTek Dimensity 8200, the same SOC which powered the Oppo Reno 10 Pro. It is paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
As for the display, Oppo Reno 11 has a 6.7-inch Full-HD+ (2412 × 1080 pixels) 10-bit curved OLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and 950 nits peak brightness. This is the same panel as the Oppo Reno 10.
The triple camera setup on the back includes a primary 50MP 1/1.953-type Sony LYT600 sensor with OIS, a secondary 8MP sensor with an ultrawide lens, and a third 32MP Sony sensor with a telephoto lens (2x optical zoom). There is no OIS for the telephoto camera. Compared to the Reno 10, there is an upgrade in the primary camera sensor but the other two are the same.
The selfie camera has a 32MP Sony sensor with autofocus and an f/2.4 lens.
There is 4K video recording support for the front and rear cameras, limited to 30fps.
Finally, Color OS 14 runs out of the box, based on Android 14.
Here is the pricing for China –
- 8GB + 256GB – ¥2499 (~$352)
- 12GB + 256GB – ¥2799 (~$395)
- 12GB + 512GB – ¥2999 (~$423)
OPPO RENO 11 PRO
The Reno 11 Pro is not much different in terms of design. One way to differentiate the two phones is the camera module where the Pro model has a different pattern for one of the circles.
The phone is heavier than the Reno 10 Pro at 190g (versus 186g). The thickness has also increased from 7.68mm to 8.26mm (8.19mm for the black option). The battery size is larger than the predecessor at 4,700mAh (versus 4,600mAh). The charging speed is 80W, compared to 100W in the Reno 10 Pro.
The Reno 11 Pro has a 6.74-inch 1.5K (2772 × 1240 pixels) 10-bit curved OLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and 1600 nits peak brightness. The Reno 10 Pro had the same sized display with the same resolution and refresh rate, but a lower peak brightness at 1,400 nits.
The chip is the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, a significant upgrade over the Dimensity 8200 in the Reno 10 Pro. Interestingly, this is the same SOC that powered the Reno 10 Pro+.
As for the cameras, there are three on the rear. The primary camera has a 50MP 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX890 sensor with OIS. The ultrawide camera has an 8MP sensor. The telephoto camera has a 32MP sensor and offers 2x Optical Zoom. For selfies, there is a 32MP sensor. So, compared to the vanilla model, the only change is in the primary camera sensor. The phone can shoot up to 4K 60fps videos via the rear camera and 4K 30fps videos via the front camera.
Here is the pricing for China –
- 12GB + 256GB – ¥3499 (~$494)
- 12GB + 512GB – ¥3799 (~$536)
Interestingly, the pricing remains unchanged when compared to the Reno 10 and Reno 10 Pro. So, for the same price, you are getting an upgraded performance, better battery life, and a better camera. The global launch should happen soon.
