The Oppo A2 Pro was launched last year in September, featuring a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset, a 120Hz AMOLED display, and a 5,000mAh battery. Today, the brand launched successor in the Chinese market, the Oppo A3 Pro. This is a mid-range smartphone with a focus on durability.

Oppo A3 Pro

The Oppo A3 Pro features up to IP69 certification and passes IP68 and IP66 certifications. This is something we are used to seeing only in rugged smartphones. While IP68-certified phones can be submerged in water beyond 1 metre, the IP69-certified phones can endure high-pressure jets of water. The devices with IP69 certification can also remain stable under high water temperatures of up to 80-degree Celsius. This is also the highest IP rating offered currently.

Oppo A3 Pro

This is the first smartphone from Oppo that uses the company’s “Crystal Shield” glass, which, as per the brand, offers 160% better drop protection compared to the back glass on the Oppo Reno 11, and a three times better scratch resistance than the back glass on the Oppo Find N3.

On the front, the Oppo A3 Pro uses the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for protection.

This is a pretty slim and lightweight phone at 7.53mm and 177g.

As for the specifications, the Oppo A3 Pro has a 6.7-inch Full-HD+ curved OLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and 10-bit color depth. The peak brightness is 950 nits. The chipset is the same as the predecessor, the MediaTek Dimensity 7050. There is LPDDR4X RAM with UFS 3.1 storage. The battery is 5,000mAh, and the phone supports 67W fast charging.

Oppo A3 Pro

On the back, the phone has two cameras – a 64MP primary without OIS and a secondary depth sensor. The selfie camera has an 8MP sensor.

Simply put, the Oppo A3 Pro has the same display, camera, SOC, battery, and charging speed as the Oppo A2 Pro. So, the only upgrade is in the build quality.

Here is the pricing for the Chinese market –

  • 8GB + 128GB – ¥1999 (~$276)
  • 12GB + 512GB – ¥2499 (~$345)
