OnePlus 8T launched with 120Hz display & 65W Charging

The OnePlus 8T is now official & there was no surprise at the event since we already knew everything about the device. Anyways, this year, OnePlus didn’t launch the “Pro” version under the “T” series, so we only got the “8T” & not the “8T Pro”. The 8T sits between the OnePlus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro when it comes to the features it offers. Some of the highlights of this phone include a 120Hz Flat AMOLED, Warp Charge 65 & Quad cameras.

ONEPLUS 8T – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS

The design is completely changed from both the front & back when compared to the OnePlus 8. There is no longer a curved display on the front as OnePlus decided to switch back to the flat AMOLE panel. The display does retain that single hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera on the top left corner.

On the rear, there is now a new design for the Quad camera setup. Instead of placing the cameras in the middle like in case of OnePlus 8 & 8 Pro, the OnePlus 8T features a rectangular camera module on the top left housing all the camera sensors & also the two Flash modules.

The ports & buttons are placed exactly where they were on the OnePlus 8, so there is no change in that department.

Finally, one noticeable design change is that there is a Glossy Glass back, so OnePlus didn’t go for the Matte Glass back this time.

One of the biggest upgrades over the OnePlus 8 is definitely the display. While the display size remains the same at 6.55-inches, there is now a 120Hz refresh rate which is an upgrade over OnePlus 8’s 90Hz refresh rate. The resolution remains Full-HD+. The panel offers an astonishing 8192 level automatic brightness adjustment.

Under the hood, OnePlus 8T has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SOC, so the company didn’t go for the newer Snapdragon 865+ chipset. There is up to 12GB RAM & 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The phone comes with Stereo Speakers with Dolby Atmos & a USB 3.1 for faster data transfer.

For better heat dissipation, there is now a 285% larger Vapour Chamber.

Coming to the cameras now, the OnePlus 8T has four of them on the rear. There is a primary 48 Megapixel shooter with Sony IMX586 sensor & OIS, a secondary 16 Megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a dedicated Macro Camera & finally a Monochrome sensor. There is a 16 Megapixel camera on the front for selfies. Some new camera features include Video Nightscape, Video Portrait, Video Tracking, Super Stabilization etc.

OnePlus 8T comes with a 4,500mAh battery & Warp Charge 65 which means it is the fastest Charging OnePlus device at 65W. You will get the 65W Adapter in the box. Finally, there is the new OxygenOS 11 running out of the box based on Android 11 which makes it the first smartphone to launch with Android 11 out of the box except for Google’s latest Pixel phones.
