[UPDATE – FAKE] Nothing Phone 2a press render shows no glyph interface

Interesting!

UPDATE – @onleaks CONFIRMS THE RENDER IS NOT ACCURATE

Well, as it turns out, the render shared by OnLeaks is not accurate and does not show the final design of the Nothing Phone 2a. This indicates, the previous leaks might’ve been accurate which show a horizontal camera placement in the center.

The Nothing Phone 1 was launched in 2022, and it was a mid-range smartphone with a premium design, glyph interface, and more at €469 / £399 / ₹32,999. Last year, the brand launched its first flagship phone, the Nothing Phone 2, starting at $599 / ₹44,999 / €679 / £579.

Nothing is preparing to launch its next smartphone, the Nothing Phone 2a. This will be a mid-range phone and the successor to the Nothing Phone 1. The company recently confirmed the name, but there is no announcement regarding the launch date yet.

But, before the official announcement, we have our first look at the design. OnLeaks shared the official press render of the phone in collaboration with SmartPrix.

While we have seen some leaks claiming to show the phone’s design, this one is entirely different. The camera module is in the top left corner, similar to the brand’s previous two phones. But an exciting thing to note is the lack of a glyph interface on the back, at least, that’s what the render shows. The back has a semi-transparent design.

A reason for the lack of a glyph interface is possibly a lower price since the Nothing Phone 1 was not very competitively priced in 2022. The render did not reveal the front or the sides, but we expect a similar flat-frame & a flat-screen design as other phones by the brand.

As for the specifications, sources have suggested a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset, a 50MP Samsung GN9  + 50MP Samsung GN1 dual cameras on the rear, a 32MP selfie camera, and Android 14.
