Infinix launched two mid-range phones in the Indian market today, the Infinix Note 40 Pro & Note 40 Pro+. These are interesting phones, as they come with some features that are rare in this price segment. The prices are pretty aggressive too, starting at ₹21,999.

The highlight of the Note 40 Pro series is the charging. Both phones support not only fast wired charging but also wireless charging. The wired charging speeds are different for the two phones, with the Note 40 charging at up to 45W, whereas the Note 40 Pro+ charges at up to 100W. There is a difference in the battery size as well. The Infinix Note 40 Pro has a 5,000mAh battery, whereas the Note 40 Pro+ has a 4,600mAh battery.

As for wireless charging, both phones support 20W wireless charging, and there is support for reverse wireless charging.

Infinix Note 40 Pro & Note 40 Pro+

Infinix has developed a Magnetic Charging ecosystem for this series, so you can use a special charging case that allows the device to be attached magnetically to a charging pad or a power bank. This is something similar to Apple’s MagSafe ecosystem. The “MagCase” is provided in the box with the device, and for a limited period, users will also get the wireless power bank (3,020mAh), “MagPower” in the box.

Another interesting thing about this series is that the phones feature a dedicated power management chip, the Infinix X1 Cheetah. Users can also control the charging speed as the phones come with three different modes – “Smart”, “Hyper” and “Low-Temp”.

Well, that was all about the charging. What about the rest of the features?

Infinix Note 40 Pro & Note 40 Pro+

Both the Infinix Note 40 & Note 40 Pro+ are identical except for the battery size & wired charging speed. Both phones have a vegan leather finish on the rear (green color), and Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front. The display is curved on the sides, and Infinix says this is the segment’s first 55-degree curved display.

One of the design highlights of this phone is the RGB light on the rear. Infinix calls it “Active Halo”, and it can light up depending on various scenarios such as Calls, Notifications, Charging, Music, and more. There is a stereo speaker setup tuned by JBL.

Under the hood, both phones have the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 chipset, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.

Speaking of cameras, there are three on the rear. The primary camera has a 108MP sensor with OIS, and there are two 2MP sensors. For selfies,  there is a 32MP camera. There is no 4K video recording support.

Finally, Android 14-based XOS 14 runs out of the box. The phone will get two Android OS updates.
