It won’t be wrong to say that the most hyped smartphone of 2022 was the Nothing Phone 1. The phone was praised by the tech reviewers and received excellent customer reviews. In just the first 20 days, over 100,000 phone units were sold in India, which again shows the hype. The company is preparing to launch the next smartphone, the Nothing Phone 2. Unlike the Phone 1, a mid-range device, the Phone 2 will be a high-end phone.
The launch is in July, but before the official launch, we have our first look at the design, thanks to OnLeaks. The phone renders were shared by OnLeaks, in collaboration with SmartPrix.
At first glance, you won’t see any significant design change compared to the Nothing Phone 1. But, looking closely, you will find some new design upgrades. Nothing Phone 1 had flat sides, and while flat sides on phones look premium, they are not the best regarding ergonomics. The Nothing Phone 2, therefore, will have rounded sides. And this rounding does not end here. The display on the Phone 2 is also slightly curved on the sides, unlike the Phone 1, which had a flat panel. The rear glass is also slightly curved on the sides.
On the rear, there are some noticeable changes in the LED strips if you compare the design with Nothing Phone 1. The phone has a dual LED flash, compared to a single LED flash on Phone 1.
Nothing has been revealed that the Phone 2 has a lower carbon footprint of 53.45kg, 5kg lower than the Phone 1. What’s more interesting is that the battery size on the Nothing Phone 2 is 200mAh bigger & the display is 0.15-inch bigger than Phone 1. Phone 2 has three times more recycled or bio-based parts than Phone 1.
Nothing Phone 2 is already confirmed to be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, and the company has promised three years of Android updates & 4 years of security updates for the phone.
