In our previous article, we talked about the Nokia X10 and Nokia X20 smartphones which are Nokia’s budget offerings with 5G. Well, those are not the only new phones launched by HMD Global. At almost half the price of the X10 and X20, we got the Nokia G10 and Nokia G20 as well. Both these phones come with MediaTek SOCs, so while the G10 has Helio G25, G20 has the Helio G35 chipset.

There are some subtle differences in terms of the design. The Nokia G10 has a triple camera setup on the rear, so the flash is placed in the camera module itself. On the other hand, Nokia G20 has a Quad camera setup, so the LED flash is outside the camera module. The front design is the same for both the phones, so there is a display with a waterdrop notch and a big bottom chin. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the right side, and both phones have a dedicated button for Google Assistant on the left side. There is a USB Type-C port on the bottom.

There is the same 6.5-inch HD+ LCD on both phones, but for the G20, Nokia specifically mentions 2.5D Glass. As mentioned above, while the G10 has Helio G25 SOC, G20 has Helio G35. Nokia G10 has a 5,000mAh battery, whereas the G20 settles for a 5,050mAh cell. There is no fast charging support as the two phones charge via a 10W adapter.

Speaking of the cameras, the G10 has a triple camera setup that includes a primary 13 Megapixel camera paired with two 2 Megapixel sensors (Depth and Macro). On the front is an 8 Megapixel camera for selfies. Nokia G20 has a Quad camera setup that includes a primary 48 Megapixel shooter paired with a 5 Megapixel ultrawide and two 2 Megapixel sensors. It too has an 8 Megapixel selfie camera.

Nokia G10 & Nokia G20

Unlike the Nokia X10 and X20 that will get OS updates for 3 years, Nokia has promised two years of Android updates for the Nokia G10 and G20. They will, however, get security updates for the next three years.

G10 comes in Dusk and Night colors while G20 in Glacier and Night. The starting price of the Nokia G10 is EUR 139, whereas that of the Nokia G20 is EUR 159. While you can buy the G10 later this month, the G20 will be available to buy next month.
