Realme added some new phones under its Narzo 50 series today with the launch of Narzo 50 5G & Narzo 50 Pro 5G. If you don’t know, there was already a Narzo 50 in the Indian market, but that was a non-5G phone. Apart from that, we already have Narzo 50A, Narzo 50A Prime, and Narzo 50i under this series. Anyways, these new phones are 5G phones, and both of them feature MediaTek’s Dimensity chipsets. Narzo 50 5G has the Dimensity 810, whereas the 50 Pro 5G gets Dimensity 920.
NARZO 50 5G
The Narzo 50 5G, like other 5G phones in its price segment, has some compromises. For example, the display has a notch on top instead of a hole punch cutout. Moreover, it is an LCD instead of an AMOLED panel. This is why the fingerprint scanner is on the right side. Nevertheless, the phone does look premium, thanks to the flat frame design and a back panel with a carbon-fiber-like pattern. There are stereo speakers and a USB Type-C port on the bottom.
In terms of specs, there is a 6.6-inch 90Hz LCD with a Full-HD+ resolution and up to 180Hz touch-sampling rate. The chipset powering this phone is the Dimensity 810 5G. It is built on the 6nm process and is paired with 4GB or 6GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB storage. The battery size is 5,000mAH, and the phone supports 33W fast charging.
The dual-camera setup on the rear includes a primary 48MP sensor with an f/1.79 lens and a 2MP B&W camera. There is an 8MP selfie shooter. Finally, Android 12 runs out of the box with Realme UI 3.0.
The phone comes in two colors named Hyper Blue & Hyper Black. Here is the pricing –
- 4GB + 64GB – ₹15,999
- 4GB + 128GB – ₹16,999
- 6GB + 128GB – ₹17,999
NARZO 50 PRO 5G
Design-wise, the Narzo 50 Pro 5G looks familiar to the other Realme phones launched this year. So, there is a familiar-looking camera module design on the rear and a display with a hole punch cutout in the corner. The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner. There is a polycarbonate back. The phone does have a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom and also stereo speakers.
The SOC powering this phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G. This is the same chip that powers Realme 9 Pro+. In fact, comparing the Narzo 50 Pro to Realme 9 Pro+, you will find some similarities.
For example, Narzo 50 Pro has the same 6.4-inch AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The hole punch cutout has a 16MP selfie camera.
The battery is bigger than Realme 9 Pro+ at 5,000mAH (vs. 4,500mAh), but the charging speed is reduced to 33W (from 60).
The camera setup on the rear also gets downgraded. There is no Sony IMX766 sensor on the Narzo 50 Pro 5G. Instead, it has a 48MP Samsung GM1 sensor that is paired with an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro. There is no OIS, too, present on the Realme 9 Pro+. The phone has a vapor chamber cooling system.
Finally, Android 12 with Realme UI 3.0 runs out of the box.
Narzo 50 Pro 5G comes in two colors named Hyper Blue & Hyper Black. Here is the pricing –
- 6GB + 128GB – ₹21,999
- 8GB + 128GB – ₹23,999
Narzo 50 5G will be on sale starting May 24th, whereas the Narzo 50 Pro 5G from May 26th.
