Motorola One Zoom unveiled with Quad Cameras

At the IFA Berlin, Motorola unveiled its latest Android One phone named Motorola One Zoom. So, it is the third phone under the Motorola One lineup of 2019 that already includes Motorola One Vision & Motorola One Action. Now, the “Zoom” is the best among the three when it comes to the features, the design & more. Hence, it is also the most expensive phone under the Motorola One lineup.

The name says it all. This a phone that is all about the cameras & yes, the camera setup is pretty solid on paper. The phone packs a Quad Camera setup on the rear & there is a rectangular camera module that also houses the Motorola logo. The fingerprint scanner is now placed under the display.

It has a premium design with a glass back & the 6000 series polished aluminum frame. Also, that Motorola logo on the back also acts as Notification light, so that’s sweet.

The display on the front is a 6.4-inch OLED Full-HD+ panel with a 19:9 aspect ratio & 85% screen-to-body ratio. While there is Gorilla Glass 3 on the rear, the display is protected with the 2.5D Panda glass from the Chinese brand, Tunghsu. It isn’t a full-screen design as there is a U-Shaped notch on top that houses the single front camera.

The SOC Powering the Motorola One Zoom is Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 which is a 10nm chip & it is the same SOC which powers the Moto Z4. There is 4GB RAM & 128GB storage with the option to expand the storage via micro SD card. It is worth mentioning that there is a triple camera slot which means you can add two SIM cards as well as a microSD card at the same time.

Let’s talk about the main USP of this device, the cameras. There is a Quad camera setup on the rear & it is impressive. The primary 48MP camera has Sony IMX 586 sensor, f/1/7 aperture & OIS. Then there is a secondary 16MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 117-degree FOV. This seems to be the same camera as that on Motorola One Action, but the company doesn’t mention “Action Cam” anywhere.

The third camera is an 8MP telephoto unit with 3X Optical Zoom, 10X Hybrid Zoom & OIS. Finally, there is a 5MP depth sensor. So yes, the camera setup is incredible on paper.
