MIUI 13 set to launch on December 28 with improved fluency

Xiaomi shared how much improvement this version brings over the previous one

Xiaomi is all set to launch its newest flagships under the 12 series on the 28th of December in China, but alongside those, the company is also unveiling MIUI 13, the next version of the company’s custom skin. It is worth mentioning that earlier this year, in August, we got MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition which brought some major performance improvements over the MIUI 12.5 version, which launched in December 2020. MIUI 13 is coming with improvements in the overall fluency over the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced version, but there are not a lot of UI changes this time.

As per Xiaomi, the overall fluency of the system applications has increased by up to 26%, whereas that of third-party apps by up to 52% when compared to the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced version. Moreover, the company said that there were some scenarios where the frame drops were reduced by up to 90%. These are some bold claims by Xiaomi, so we will have to wait for the launch to see if that is actually the case.

Finally, Xiaomi also revealed that there is a specific MIUI version for tablets named the MIUI 13 Pad, and the top 3000 apps have already been adapted to use every single inch of the large screens.

As we know already, Xiaomi 12 series devices will launch with MIUI 13 running out of the box.
