LG Velvet 4G launched with Snapdragon 845, priced at €499

The LG Velvet was officially announced in May this year with gorgeous design & 5G support. While the design of the phone is definitely beautiful, it is definitely not value for money device if you are looking to get the best specs by spending around $599. Today, LG officially unveiled the 4G version of the phone, the LG Velvet 4G. The device is now listed on the German website & is priced at €499.

LG Velvet 4G

There is no difference between the 4G & the 5G version except for the chipset. While the Velvet 5G features Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SOC, the LG Velvet 4G comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SOC. Yes, it has a chipset from 2018. Now, while the Snapdragon 855 would’ve been a better choice, it would’ve resulted in a higher cost than the 5G variant.

So that’s why LG settled down on the Snapdragon 845, which is not bad at all when we compare it to Snapdragon 765G. The CPU performance might be similar, but the Snapdragon 845 takes the lead in terms of the GPU performance when compared to the 765G.

The rest of the specs are the same as the LG Velvet 5G & so is the design. The phone is listed on the German Website with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, and the price tag is €499. For comparison, the 5G version costs €649.
