In November 2021, Lava launched its Agni 5G smartphone at ₹20,000, featuring the MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset, a 90Hz display, a 5,000mAh battery, and more. Today, the brand launched the successor in India, the Lava Agni 2. The successor is priced at ₹21,999, but including the bank offers, the price comes down to ₹19,999. And for this price, this phone offers impressive specifications. Based on the specifications alone, it won’t be wrong to say this is currently the best phone at around ₹20,000 in India.
The design is one of the highlights of the phone. Lava Agni 2 comes with a glass back & a curved display on the front. A circular camera module has a triple camera setup and an LED flash. The fingerprint sensor is placed under the display. Lava says the bottom bezel on this phone is 2.3mm.
Under the hood, the phone has the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset, which is the same SOC as Dimensity 1080. This chip is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. For better thermals, the phone has a 2900mm square Vapor Chamber.
The display is a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED with 10-bit color depth, 950 nits peak brightness, HDR10+ support, and Widevine L1 certification. At this price, a 120Hz curved AMOLED display with an under-display fingerprint sensor is truly impressive, especially for a brand like Lava.
The phone has a 4,700mAh battery and supports 66W fast charging.
The camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor, but the company did not share the details regarding the other cameras.
Finally, Lava Agni 2 runs on Android 13 and will get two major Android OS updates. Lava says the software has no bloatware or ads baked into it. The phone has 13 5G bands, one of the highest in this segment.
Lava Agni 2 is priced at ₹21,999, and after applying bank discounts, you can get this phone for as low as ₹19,999. The sale starts on May 24, and you can buy the phone via Amazon.
