Last week, iQOO announced that it is launching a new flagship phone in the Chinese market on December 29, the iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition. At that time, the company did not reveal much, except for the chipset which powers this phone. But now, we know all the significant specifications as the company has revealed almost all of them already. If you don’t know, iQOO has already launched the Neo 7 & Neo 7 SE in the Chinese market with Dimensity 9000+ and Dimensity 8200, respectively.
Design-wise, the iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition looks identical to the Neo 7 and Neo 7 SE. The difference is in the specifications. The Racing Edition is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SOC, which means it is the only phone under the Neo 7 series currently with a Qualcomm chipset. Moreover, this is not an underclocked version of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which is present in some recently launched devices, such as the Redmi K60.
There is up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. The display on the front is a 6.78-inch E5 AMOLED panel with Full-HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The phone has an Independent display chip Pro+.
There is a hole punch cutout that has the 16MP selfie camera.
On the rear, iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition has a triple camera setup. The primary camera has a 50MP Samsung GN5 sensor with OIS, the ultrawide camera has an 8MP sensor, and the third camera has a 2MP sensor. The battery size is 5,000mAh, and there is 120W fast charging support. The fingerprint scanner sits under the display, and the phone has dual X-axis linear motors. The frame of the phone is made of plastic.
The price of the phone is not yet known, but the launch is taking place tomorrow, so we don’t have to wait much.
