iQOO 8 Pro to feature a 50MP + 48MP camera combination

It also has VIS (Vibration Image Stabilisation) along with OIS!

iQOO is preparing to unveil the iQOO 8 series in China on the 17th of August, and so far, we know that this series includes at least two smartphones – the iQOO 8 & the iQOO 8 Pro. iQOO has already shared some details, such as the Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, etc. and now, the company revealed some details regarding the camera setup on the Pro version. This time, the camera setup is pretty interesting as among the three rear cameras, two are 50 Megapixel & 48 Megapixel camera sensors.

So, as the above image shows, there is a rectangular camera module with three cameras in it, and none of the cameras includes a periscope lens. So, this means if there is a camera for zoom shots, then it is a normal telephoto lens. According to Digital Chat Station, the primary camera includes a 50 Megapixel sensor, and the ultrawide camera includes a 48 Megapixel sensor. The third camera has a 16 Megapixel sensor with a focal length of up to 60mm. So, this is for taking zoom shots, and since it is not a periscope camera, there isn’t a lot of Optical Zoom offered by this camera. The maximum you can expect is 2.5X to 3X. The 50MP primary sensor is most probably the Sony IMX766.

Another thing that you will notice is the “Gimbal Stabilization” text written on the camera module. This means iQOO is using Vivo’s Gimbal Stabilization technology on its iQOO 8 Pro smartphone. Vivo calls it the VIS or Vibration Image Stabilization.

So far, we already know that the iQOO 8 series features Samsung’s E5 AMOLED panel with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. And that’s not it! It is also rumoured that there is an LTPO panel which means the refresh rate can go as low as 1Hz when needed.

The launch is happening in a week so let’s see at what price iQOO launches its newest flagships!
