Huawei P40 Pro Premium Edition features a ceramic back

It’s raining leaks at the moment because after the renders of Huawei P40 & P40 Pro leaked, we now have the render of what’s supposed to launch as the Huawei P40 Pro Premium Edition. This means there are at least four phones launching under the “P” series soon (including the Porsche Edition as well).

The Premium Edition has a “premium” build and a Penta-lens camera setup on the rear.

So, with the Premium Edition, Huawei is going for a ceramic back panel. There is a huge camera module on the rear that has not two, three or four, but five cameras in it. That’s the highest number of rear cameras we have seen on any Huawei smartphone till now. On the front, there is the same pill-shaped cutout for the dual selfie cameras as on the P40 & P40 Pro.

The USB Type-C port is on the bottom alongside the speaker grill & the SIM Card tray.

One interesting thing that a lot of sources have suggested is the fact that the periscope-style lens on the rear offers 10X Optical Zoom which is first on any Huawei device.

It is worth mentioning that the regular P40 Pro is most likely having 5X Optical Zoom lens like last year. So, just like Samsung, Huawei is launching three premium phones this year under the “P” series – Huawei P40, P40 Pro & P40 Premium Edition. Then there’s also the ‘Porsche Edition’.

The launch date is not known, but usually, the launch takes place in March, so this time as well, we can expect it to happen in the same month.
