The Honor 90 series was launched in May, featuring the Honor 90 with Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and the Honor 90 Pro with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Today, the Honor 100 series was launched in China so we have the Honor 100 & Honor 100 Pro. With every new series, Honor tries to change the design of the camera module, and the same happened this time. The Honor 100 series has a completely different camera module design than the Honor 90 series.

HONOR 100

HONOR 100

Honor 100 is a premium mid-range device with a unique camera module design where the camera module is rectangular and has a half-circular ring with some text related to the camera specs. There is a dual camera setup on the back. The thickness and the weight are the same as the Honor 90 – 7.8mm & 183g.

On the front, the phone has a quad-curved display with a hole punch cutout. One of the cons of the Honor 90 was the single bottom-firing speaker. The Honor 100, however, has a stereo speaker setup

HONOR 100

The display is a 6.7-inch OLED with a 2664×1200 pixels resolution, 10-bit color depth, and 3840Hz UHF PWM Dimming. While this sounds like the same panel as the Honor 90, the peak brightness has increased from 1600 nits to 2600 nits.

The chip is upgraded to the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, which sits between the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 & the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 in performance. Compared to the Honor 90’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, there is a 15% faster CPU & up to 50% faster GPU. The newer chip is 20% more power efficient. There is 12GB or 16GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB storage.

The phone has the Honor C1 chip which is used to improve connectivity.

The dual camera setup on the rear includes a primary 1/1.56″ 50MP Sony IMX906 sensor with OIS and an f/1.95 lens. For comparison, the Honor 90 featured a 200MP Samsung HP3 sensor with no OIS. The second camera has a 12MP sensor and a 112° ultra-wide-angle lens. The ultrawide camera is used for macro shots.

For selfies, there is a 50MP sensor on the front with an f/2.1 lens. Both the front and rear cameras can shoot 4K videos.

The battery is 5,000mAh and there is 100W wired charging, versus 66W for the Honor 90.

Finally, MagicOS 7.2 runs out of the box, based on Android 13.

Here’s the price of Honor 100 in China –

  • 12GB + 256GB – ¥2499 (~$352)
  • 16GB + 256GB – ¥2799 (~$394)
  • 16GB + 512GB – ¥2999 (~$423)

HONOR 100 PRO

HONOR 100 PRO

Honor 100 Pro is a flagship phone with a completely different look as compared to the Honor 100. There is a pill-shaped cutout on the front instead of a tiny hole punch cutout. The camera module design is quite odd and there are three cameras. The back gets a two-tone look on a couple of color options. The two-tone design includes glass and leather texture.

One of the biggest upgrades over the Honor 90 Pro is the performance, thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (versus 8+ Gen 1). For better thermals, there is a 4674mm² vapor chamber.

The phone gets the same Honor C1 chip as the vanilla model.

HONOR 100 PRO

Another change is in the cameras. While the Honor 90 Pro had a 200MP primary sensor, the Honor 100 Pro has the same 50MP Sony IMX906 sensor (with OIS) as the Honor 100. The ultrawide/macro camera is the same as the vanilla model. The third telephoto camera has a 32MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture and 2.5x optical zoom.

Honor 100 Pro has a 50MP Sony IMX816 sensor for selfies with an f/2.0 lens and autofocus. This is the first phone with this sensor.

The battery size and wired charging speed are the same as the Honor 100 but the Pro model gets 66W wireless charging support. The Honor 90 Pro did not have wireless charging support.

Finally, the display is a 6.78-inch 10-bit OLED with a 2700×1224 pixels resolution, 3840Hz UHF PWM Dimming, and 2600 nits peak brightness.
