[UPDATE – More Specs] Asus ROG Phone 2 with 5,800mAh battery listed on TENAA

UPDATE – TENAA NOW REVEALED SOME OTHER SPECIFICATIONS OF THE ASUS ROG PHONE 2

So, there is a 6.59-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 855 Plus SOC clocked at 2.95GHz, 8GB/12GB RAM 128GB/256GB/1TB storage, a 25MP front-facing camera, a 48M primary rear camera & a 5,800mAh battery underneath with fast charging. The phone is 9.78mm thick & weighs around 240 grams.

Just a few days are now left for the launch of Asus ROG Phone 2 in China & we already have the hands-on images that leaked recently, revealing the front of the phone. Moreover, we know that it will be the first phone with Snapdragon 855 Plus SOC. Now, the phone showed up on TENAA, which confirmed the design & also revealed a couple of other specs like screen size & the battery size.

The design remains unchanged with one noticeable change, and that’s the fingerprint scanner. While the first generation ROG Phone had a fingerprint scanner on the rear, the ROG Phone 2 seems to have an in-display fingerprint scanner.

This further confirms the presence of an AMOLED screen & since the 120Hz refresh rate is already confirmed, the Asus ROG Phone 2 is definitely going to be the first phone with a 120Hz OLED panel. There are dual rear cameras & an 18:9 screen on the front. The phone has stereo front-firing speakers like the last year’s ROG Phone.

Like last year, the Asus ROG Phone 2 has connectors on the left side for connecting various accessories as well as the charger while playing games. The volume rockers and the power button are on the right side.

Finally, the TENAA listing revealed that the phone has a 6.59-inch display & features a massive 5,800mAh battery which is insane. FYI, the Asus ROG Phone of last year had a 4,000mAh battery. The typical battery is expected to be rated around 6,000mAh so yes, that’s crazy.

The launch is happening on July 23rd in China, so let’s see what Asus has to offer with its upcoming gaming phone.
