UPDATE 20/02/2019 – THE PHONE IS NOW OFFICIAL AND WELL, ALL THE LEAKS RELATED TO THE PRICING WERE FAKE
The Xiaomi Mi 9 with 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM is priced at 2,999 Yuan or $446. The 8GB + 128GB variant is priced at 3,299 Yuan or $490. So, the price of Xiaomi Mi 9 remains well under $500, at least in the Chinese market. The transparent version with 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM is priced at 3,999 Yuan or $595.
UPDATE 18/02/2019 – THE PREVIOUS LEAK COULD BE FAKE. HERE IS YET ANOTHER LEAK THAT REVEALS DIFFERENT PRICING
So, according to this new leak, the 6GB + 64GB variant will be priced at 3,299 Yuan or $487, the 8GB + 128GB variant at 3,499 Yuan or $517 & the 8GB + 256GB variant at 3,499 Yuan or $547. The transparent Xiaomi Mi 9 with 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM will be priced at 4,999 Yuan or $737. Now, Lei Jun revealed on Weibo that the transparent Mi 9 would launch with 12GB RAM but this leak doesn’t reveal the price of the 12GB variant.
Again, nothing is official yet about the pricing so this could be fake as well.
Moreover, since Lei Jun has already said that the price of Xiaomi Mi 9 will be higher than that of Mi 8, the previous leak is most probably fake.
UPDATE 16/02/2019 – THE PRICING FOR ALL THE MI 9 VARIANTS IS HERE!! (VIA)
NOTE – WE ARE NOT 100% SURE ABOUT THE PRICING SO CONSIDER IT WITH A PINCH OF SALT
Xiaomi doesn’t want to keep its upcoming Mi 9 a secret anymore as, from past few days, we have got a lot of official images from the company itself, revealing every tiny bit of detail regarding the design. Still, one thing that we all want to know is the pricing since Xiaomi is always known for its aggressive pricing. It is worth mentioning that the Xiaomi Mi 8 was launched last year at a starting price of around 2,699 Yuan in China.
So, the Xiaomi Mi 9 will launch in at least three variants – 6GB + 64GB, 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. The 6GB + 64GB variant will be priced at 2,499 Yuan or $369, the 8GB + 128GB variant at 2,899 Yuan or $428 & the 8GB + 256GB variant at 3,499 Yuan or $517.
Lei Jun revealed on his Weibo account today that the Mi 9 has a 3.6mm bottom chin, smaller than one on phones like Honor V20, Huawei Nova 4, Oppo R17 etc. It is 40% narrower compared to Mi 8.
The Mi 9 is confirmed to feature the Snapdragon 855 processor, and there is also a special edition 12GB RAM variant that is most probably the transparent version. If the company follows the last year’s naming pattern, this transparent version will launch as the Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer Edition.
