In March, the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro was launched in the Chinese market with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 & an impressive set of cameras. Today, the phone was launched in the Indian market as the Xiaomi 14 Civi. The phone comes under the premium mid-range category, and it is pretty evident from the ₹42,999 starting price tag.

This is not the cheapest phone in India with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, as the Poco F6 with the same chipset is available under ₹30,000. But it is not the performance that’s the highlight of this phone. The “Civi” stands for “Cinematic Vision”, and it clearly shows that the cameras are the main USP of the Xiaomi 14 Civi.

So, speaking of the cameras first, the phone has three on the back and two on the front.

The primary rear camera uses a 1/1.55” 50MP Light Fusion 800 sensor with an  f/1.63 aperture lens, OIS, and 2.0-micron pixel size after binning. The ultrawide camera has a 12MP sensor with a 120-degree lens. The third camera has a telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, a 50MP sensor, and an f/1.98 aperture lens. There is support for 4K video recording at up to 60fps.

Speaking of the dual front cameras, there is a 32MP + 32MP setup where the second camera uses an ultrawide lens. The front cameras can shoot 4K videos at up to 30fps.

The LEICA goodies make this camera setup even more interesting. Just like the high-end Xiaomi phones, the Xiaomi 14 Civi comes with two LEICA options in the camera app – LEICA Vibrant & LEICA Authentic. Apart from that, there are LEICA filters and Pro LUTs available to use.

The Xiaomi 14 Civi has the Xiaomi AISP, or the “AI Image Signal Processor,” for better image processing.

The design of the phone is premium. The phone has a Quad-curved display with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection and slim bezels. There are three color options – Matcha Green, Cruise Blue, and Shadow Black, each with a different look on the back. The phone is 7.4mm thick and has a metal frame. There are stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and an IR blaster.

The display is a 6.55-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED with a 1-120Hz refresh rate, 3000 nits peak brightness, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and a 12-bit color depth. Finally, the phone runs on Android 14 out of the box, with Xiaomi’s HyperOS on top.
