Vivo X500 to feature the same primary camera as Vivo X300 Pro

The telephoto camera has the same sensor as Vivo X500 Pro!

When it comes to the best camera phones, Vivo’s X series always comes up in the conversation. Last year, we got the Vivo X300 series, which featured the Sony Lytia LYT-828 sensor for the primary camera, the Samsung HPB sensor for the telephoto camera, big batteries, and powerful chipsets.

Well, the Vivo X500 series is all set to launch in China, and the brand has started talking about the cameras on the Vivo X500 and X500 Pro. This time, there is also a Vivo X500 Pro Max.

Vivo X500 Camera Details

Recently, Vivo shared the camera details of the vanilla model on Weibo. The Vivo X500 features a 1/1.28″ 50MP Sony LYT-828 sensor for the primary rear camera, the same sensor used on the Vivo X300 Pro. For comparison, the Vivo X300 featured a 1/1.4″ 200MP Samsung HPB sensor for the primary camera. So, while the megapixel count has reduced, the sensor is larger and more advanced.

Vivo X500 Pro telephoto camera

The telephoto camera on the Vivo X500 uses the same Sony LYT-610 sensor that the Vivo X500 Pro has.

Both cameras feature CIPA 5.5 stabilization. The telephoto camera supports 4K 120fps slow-motion video recording.

Vivo has confirmed that the Vivo X500 Pro series is powered by a 2nm MediaTek chipset. While the exact name of this chipset is not yet official, it is most likely a Dimensity 9600 series chipset. The X500 Pro series supports 4K 120fps 10-bit Log recording and 4K Dolby Portrait recording.

Vivo X500 Pro series main sensor

The Vivo X500 Pro and Pro Max feature a new sensor for the primary camera, custom-built by Sony and Vivo’s imaging team. The brand is calling it the ‘BluePrint LightGuard 900’ sensor. The sensor supports 4K 240fps video recording and 4K 120fps HDR video recording.

Vivo X500 Pro Max telephoto camera

The Vivo X500 Pro Max is coming with a 6.85-inch AMOLED display with a Quad-HD+ resolution. This is going to be the world’s first display using the BOE Q11 panel.  It also features a 1/1.4″ 200MP sensor for the telephoto camera, the same one used on the Vivo X300 Ultra.

Well, Vivo’s X series is always worth waiting for since the cameras on these devices are incredible. Let’s see how much the cameras have improved over the last generation.
