Price starts at ¥3299 (~$466)!

Release Date
November 29, 2023
Starting Price
¥3299 (~$466)

The Redmi K60 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 was launched in China last year in December for a starting price of ¥3299 (~$466). Today, the successor, the Redmi K70 Pro, was launched in China at the same price. And for the same price, the phone brings some significant upgrades.

It is impressive to see Redmi offering these upgrades without increasing the price. In fact, the base variant of the K70 Pro has 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. If we compare the price based on the storage and RAM, then the Redmi K60 Pro with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage was launched at ¥3899 (~$550). This means the Redmi K70 Pro is ¥600 (~$85) cheaper than the Redmi K60 Pro! Now, that’s what we call aggressive pricing.

Redmi K70 Pro Design

The rear design is different this year. The Redmi K60 Pro had that rectangular camera module on the top left corner with a triple camera setup. The Redmi K70 Pro has a camera module that spans the width of the phone. There are four identical circles, with three having camera sensors and one having an LED flash module. This camera module matches the color of the back, so the design looks quite clean this time.

There is a glossy and flat metal frame and a glass back.

Redmi K70 Pro Display

On the front, the Redmi K70 Pro has a flat panel with a hole punch cutout in the center and minimal bezels. The phone is narrower this year at 74.95mm, making it more comfortable to hold and use with one hand. There is an X-axis linear motor, an under-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and an IR blaster.

The display is one of the highlights of this device. It is a 6.67-inch Quad-HD+ (3200 x 1440 pixels) TCL Huaxing C8 OLED panel with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 526 PPI pixel density, and 4000 nits peak brightness. The panel has a 12-bit color depth, a 2160 Hz instantaneous touch-sampling rate, and a 3,840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. The panel supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HDR Vivid, and ZREAL.

Redmi K70 Pro Battery

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the most powerful SOC for Android phones currently on the market. There is up to 24GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. The battery is 5,000mAh, and there is 120W fast wired charging support. To efficiently handle the power and thermals while charging, the phone has Xiaomi’s Surge P2 and Surge G1 chipsets. Surprisingly, the Redmi K70 Pro does not support wireless charging, which the Redmi K60 Pro did last year.

Redmi K70 Pro Camera

Coming to the cameras, the Redmi K70 Pro has three on the back. The primary camera has a 50MP 1/1.55″ sensor with an f/1.6 lens and OIS. The ultrawide camera has a 12MP sensor, and the 2X telephoto camera has a 50MP sensor. This is a big upgrade over the Redmi K60 Pro’s 54MP + 8MP + 2MP triple camera setup. The phone supports 8K video recording at up to 24fps.

For selfies, there is a 16MP sensor with no 4K recording support.

Finally, Xiaomi’s HyperOS runs out of the box.

The Redmi K70 Pro comes in three colors and here is the pricing –

  • 12GB + 256GB – ¥3299 (~$466)
  • 16GB + 256GB – ¥3599 (~$508)
  • 16GB + 512GB – ¥3899 (~$550)
  • 24GB + 1TB – ¥4399 (~$621)
