Redmi K30i 5G goes official with a price tag of 1,899 Yuan

A couple of weeks ago Redmi K30 5G Speed Edition launched in China as the first smartphone with Snapdragon 768G SOC. Today, the Redmi K30i 5G was listed on JD.com with the price, which means the phone is quietly official. It is up for pre-sale. The main USP of this device is that at the price tag of 1,899 Yuan it offers 5G support, making it the cheapest 5G phone from Redmi.

There is no difference in the design when we compare the Redmi K30 5G & the Redmi K30i 5G. In fact, most of the specs also remain the same. For Example, both phones have a 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz LCD panel, Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SOC, a 4,500mAh battery & 30W fast charging support. So, what’s the difference? Well, there is a slight change in the camera specs, or rather a downgrade.

The Redmi K30 5G featured a 64 Megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor on the rear, but the K30i 5G comes with a 48 Megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor. Rest of the camera specs are the same for both phones i.e, an 8 Megapixel ultrawide camera, a 5 Megapixel Super Macro camera, and a 2 Megapixel depth sensor. There are same dual cameras on the front as the K30 5G, i.e., a 20 Megapixel primary paired with a 2 Megapixel depth unit.

On JD.com, the Redmi K30i 5G is listed in two color options & single storage option. The color options are White and Gradient Blue, whereas the storage option is 6GB + 128GB. The price is 1,899 Yuan which translates to $266.
