Lu Weibing says Redmi K30 in the works, will support 5G

Redmi K20 & K20 Pro launched in China this year in May & only three months have passed since the Redmi flagship was launched. Today, Lu Weibing, the General Manager of Redmi, revealed on Weibo that the Redmi K30 is already in the works & currently, it’s in the research & development phase. Moreover, he also revealed that the K30 would support 5G, something that the K20 series lacks.

Now, there are chances that Redmi K30 with 5G support will be launched before the end of 2019 & that’s not surprising since Xiaomi follows the 6-month upgrade cycle. This is the reason Redmi Note 7 series & Note 8 series are launching in the same year.

As far as specs are concerned, if the K30 launches this year, it will most likely feature Snapdragon 855+ SOC & the X50 Modem for 5G support.
