Redmi 8A & Redmi 8 launched last year in September & October respectively in the Indian market & now the company is preparing for the launch of the successors. We got to know about the Redmi 9 a couple of months back when an alleged live image of the phone leaked. Today, the specifications of Redmi 9 Series were shared by the same source (Sudhanshu) on Twitter & there are three phones named Redmi 9, Redmi 9A, and Redmi 9C.
The Redmi 9A is the cheapest among the three and features a 6.53-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel. There is MediaTek Helio G25 SOC with Mali-G31 GPU, and the phone comes with 3GB RAM along with 32GB storage. There is a 5,000mAh battery & USB Type-C port for charging. There is a 13 Megapixel rear camera and a 5 Megapixel front camera.
The Redmi 9C comes in two variants – one with NFC & one without NFC. Both variants have a 6.53-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel & MediaTek Helio G35 chipset. Both have a 5,000mAh battery, a 5MP selfie camera, 3GB RAM & 64GB storage. But, the variant without NFC has a triple camera setup (13MP + 5MP + 2MP) whereas the one with NFC has Dual cameras (13MP + 2MP).
Finally, there is the Redmi 9 which comes with a 6.53-inch Full-HD+ IPS LCD panel & the MediaTek Helio G70 chipset. There is 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, a 5,000mAh battery & USB Type-C port. On the rear, Redmi 9 has Quad cameras that include a primary 13 Megapixel unit paired with an 8 Megapixel ultrawide, a 5MP Macro & a 2MP sensor. There is a 5MP selfie camera.
Looking at the specs, it looks like Redmi 9 is Redmi’s answer to the Realme Narzo 10A which launched this month in India with the same Helio G70 SOC & a 5,000mAh battery as the Redmi 9.
Talking about the pricing, here are the expected prices for the European market –
- Redmi 9A – €100 – €120
- Redmi 9C – €130 – €150
- Redmi 9 – €160 – €180
