The OnePlus 13s is now official in the Indian market and this is the same phone which sells as the OnePlus 13T in the Chinese market. This is the third smartphone under the OnePlus 13 series which now includes the 13, 13s, and the 13R. The OnePlus 13s sits between the other two in terms of price and features. It is also worth mentioning that the 13s was only launched in India, not the other global markets.
Starting with the design, the OnePlus 13s looks unique. It doesn’t look anything like the other two phones in the 13 series. There is a square-shaped camera module on the rear with two cameras and an LED flash. The main USP of this phone is its size. It is a compact smartphone with a 6.32-inch display. For comparison, the OnePlus 13 has a 6.82-inch display, while the 13R has a 6.78-inch panel. The phone is quite light at 185g and is 8.2mm thick.
The phone has a metal frame and a glass back. There is no IP68 or IP69 certification, and instead, the phone has an IP64 rating.
Under the hood, the OnePlus 13s has the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset as the OnePlus 13. The phone comes with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. While the OnePlus 13T in China has a massive 6,260mAh battery, the Indian variant has a smaller 5,850mAh battery. There is 80W wired charging, but no wireless charging support.
The display on the front is a 6.32-inch 1.5K 8T LTPO OLED with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. The display is protected with Gorilla Glass 7i. There is an optical under-display fingerprint scanner.
In terms of cameras, the OnePlus 13s has two rear cameras. The primary camera has a 1/1.56″ 50MP Sony LYT-700 sensor with a 1.0 µm pixel size and OIS. The second camera has a 2x telephoto lens and a 50MP sensor, but it lacks OIS support. There is no ultrawide camera on this phone. On the front, the phone has a 32MP sensor. The phone can shoot 4K 60fps videos from the rear camera, but the selfie camera is limited to 4K 30fps video recording.
Finally, the phone runs on OxygenOS 15 out of the box, and the company has promised four OS updates for the device.
