Nubia Play has Snapdragon 765G & 144Hz AMOLED display

Nubia is preparing for the launch of its mid-range device named Nubia Play in China, and the launch is set to take place on April 21st. The main highlight of this device is 144Hz AMOLED display, something we have seen only on the Red Magic 5G. This, along with the fact that it is a mid-range device and not a flagship, makes this phone even more interesting.

Nubia has revealed some other key specifications of the phone on its Weibo page.

First, there is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SOC which is not only the fastest mid-range SOC from Qualcomm but also supports 5G since it has an integrated 5G modem. There is a 5,100mAh battery, and it is not a surprise since there is a 144Hz refresh rate display, so there needs to be a big battery.

On the rear, the Nubia Play packs a Quad camera setup, and while Nubia didn’t reveal information about each camera, the company did reveal that there is a primary 48 Megapixel Sony sensor (IMX586 most probably). On the front, there is a single 12 Megapixel camera.

The phone neither has a punch-hole design nor a notch. Instead, there are top and bottom bezels, and the front camera is placed in the top bezel.

Well, the pricing is a mystery so let’s wait for the official launch on April 21st.
