Meizu 22 design & specifications leaked ahead of the launch

Launching on September 15!

The Meizu 21 was launched in China in November 2023 with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and a beautiful design, which included extremely slim 1.74mm bezels. The brand is set to launch the Meizu 22 in the Chinese market on September 15, and the key specifications of the phone have leaked on Weibo along with the design. These details were shared by Digital Chat Station.

Design-wise, there is no longer a vertically stacked camera setup this year. Instead, the Meizu 22 has a square-shaped camera island with a triple camera setup and the multi-color ring LED. One of the cameras features a periscope telephoto lens. For comparison, the Meizu 21 did not have a telephoto camera and instead featured a 5MP depth sensor. There is a flat metal frame and extremely slim bezels on the front.

As per Digital Chat Station, the Meizu 22 has 1.2mm bezels around the display. This should make it the smartphone with the slimmest bezels in the world.

This is a 6.3-inch display with a 2.5D glass on top, meaning the Meizu 22 is a compact flagship phone. For comparison, the Meizu 21 had a 6.55-inch display. The phone is 8.15mm thick and weighs around 190g.

Speaking of the specifications, the Meizu 22 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and packs a 5,500mAh battery with 80W fast wired charging. There are three cameras on the rear. The primary camera has a 1/1.3″ 50MP OmniVison OV50H sensor for the primary camera with OIS and an f/1.68 aperture lens. The ultrawide camera has a 1/2.88″ 50MP OmniVision OV50D sensor. There is a 3x periscope telephoto lens for the third camera with a 1/1.95″ 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor and OIS. The selfie camera has the same 1/2.88″ 50MP OmniVision OV50D sensor as the ultrawide camera.
