Asus Rog Phone price starts at $899, pre-orders from October 18

In the first week of June, the World’s biggest computing show, Computex, took place where Asus showcased its ROG Phone. If you know how it looks and what are the features, you know that this is one of the best phones for gaming. Finally, Asus finally announced the pricing of the device and the ROG Phone would be available to pre-order from October 18. Features like 90Hz display, speed-binned 2.96GHz Snapdragon 845 processor, and a vapor-chamber cooling system make the Asus ROG Phone the best gaming phone at the moment.

At first glance, the Asus ROG Phone looks like a true gaming-centric phone with diamond cut highlights, a hexagonal fingerprint scanner and copper detailing. No other phone resembles the ROG Phone, and this is one thing that makes all the gaming-centric phones so different from normal devices.

On the front, the ROG Phone has a 6-inch 18:9 display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. Apart from the Razer Phone with a 120Hz screen, the Asus ROG Phone is the only gaming phone with a screen having refresh rate above 60Hz. It is an AMOLED display with 1ms response time and 550 nits brightness. Other display features include Mobile HDR, Gaming HDR, 108.6% DCIP3 and 100,000:1 contrast ratio.

Under the hood, there is a powerful Snapdragon 845 processor, and the best thing about is that this is clocked at up to 2.96GHz. This makes the Snapdragon 845 in Asus ROG Phone the fastest among any other phone with this processor. The phone has 8GB LPDDR4 RAM and 128/512GB UFS 2.1 storage.

Coming to the cameras, the Asus ROG Phone has dual cameras on the rear that include a primary 12MP Sony IMX 363 dual pixel sensor with 1.4µm pixel size, f/1.7 aperture, 4-axis OIS, and 0.03 seconds phase-detection autofocus. The camera can detect up to 16 different scenes, so this is yet another smartphone with AI features. Some of the AI features include Real-Time Beautification, Real-time portrait, and AI Photo learning.

The second rear camera is an 8MP wide-angle lens with 120° field of view. The front camera is an 8MP f/2.0 sensor. The rear camera can shoot 4K 60fps videos and 240fps slow-motion videos at 1080p.

The Asus ROG Phone has dual front-firing speakers with dual NXP 9874 smart amplifier for better sound output. Other audio features include Hi-Res audio 192kHz/24-bit standard, DTS (Digital Theater System) DTS:X Ultra 1.0 for realistic 3D audio rendering featuring immersive 7.1-channel surround-sound with the enhanced bass response and Triple internal microphones with ASUS Noise Reduction Technology.

The ROG Phone has USB Type-C Port on the bottom and a 3.5mm headphone jack. On the side, there is a connector (USB-C + special port) for different accessories like Mobile Desktop Dock, Twinview Dock, Gamevice controller, etc. The Asus ROG Phone has a 4,000mAh battery that supports fast charging. Android 8.1.0 Oreo runs out of the box with ROG UI on top.

Some other interesting features of the phone include Asus Auro RGB Lighting, Asus Supercharge, X Mode, AirTrigger touch sensors, GameCool system, etc.

The Asus ROG Phone is priced at $899 for the 128GB variant and $1099 for the 512GB variant. The device will be available for pre-order on October 18 in the US, but we still have no information about the release date. Here is the pricing for different accessories –
