Vivo announced today at a Joint Press Conference in China that it would launch a 5G device in December powered by the all-new Exynos 980 SOC. The phone is going to be called Vivo X30 & is most likely going to be the first phone with Samsung’s Exynos 980 SOC.
It is worth mentioning that the Exynos 980 was unveiled in September & it is an 8nm chip with an octa-core CPU that includes 2X Cortex-A77 cores clocked at 2.2GHz & 6X Cortex A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The Cortex-A77 was unveiled at the Computex 2019 in May & we are going to see it in every upcoming flagship SOC CPU next year. The Cortex-A77 can deliver 20% better performance compared to the Cortex-A76 at the same clock speed.
Other specifications of the Exynos 980 include a Mali-G76 MP5 GPU, Integrated NPU, Advanced 5G Modem, etc.
The Vivo X30 specifications are not yet known, but rumors suggest a 6.5-inch AMOLED screen, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, a 4,500mAh battery, 22.5W/30W Fast Charging, 32MP selfie camera & a Quad camera setup on the back. There are also talks of the 90Hz refresh rate. There is also Vivo X30 Pro that’s coming with a bigger 6.89-inch panel, 12GB RAM & 44W Fast Charging.
The launch date is not yet out, but we know that the X30 is launching in December.
