Realme 7 launched in India with MediaTek Helio G95 & 90Hz LCD

When Realme 6 launched in India at a starting price of Rs 12,999, the company disrupted the budget segment once again because, at that price, this phone was offering a 90Hz LCD, the MediaTek Helio G90T SOC, 30W Fast Charging, 64 Megapixel Quad cameras & more. But then, due to the GST hike in India, the price was increased & now, the Realme 6 starts at Rs 14,999.

Well today, Realme 7 launched alongside the Realme 7 Pro in India as the successor to the Realme 6. The starting price remains unchanged, i.e., Rs 14,999 & for the same price, you now get a better chip, a new design, a bigger battery & an upgraded camera.

REALME 7 – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS

The design of the phone is the same as Realme 7 Pro, so it has the same “AG Split” design on the back. The camera setup design is slightly different than the 7 Pro. On the front, there is a single hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera & since the panel is LCD, the fingerprint scanner is there on the right side.

While the 7 Pro has the same Snapdragon 720G SOC as Realme 6 Pro, that’s not the case with the non-Pro version. In fact, Realme 7 is the first smartphone to launch with the new MediaTek Helio G95 chipset & it is slightly better than G90T in terms of the performance. On AnTuTu, this chip scores over 300,000 compared to the Realme 6’s score of around 291,000.

Just like the 7 Pro, Realme 7 has a 64 Megapixel Sony IMX682 sensor on the back which is definitely a big upgrade from the 64MP Samsung sensor on Realme 6. There is a secondary 8 Megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a third Macro & a fourth B&W Portrait Lens. On the front, there is a 16 Megapixel camera with Sony IMX471 sensor.

While Realme went for a Super AMOLED panel on the 7 Pro, that’s not the case with the Realme 7 since there is the same 90Hz LCD panel as on the Realme 6. It is a 6.5-inch panel with Full-HD+ resolution & Gorilla Glass protection.

There is 6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM paired with 64/128GB UFS 2.1 storage. The device offers a triple-card slot to add a microSD card. The final upgrade is the battery. Compared to the 4,300mAh battery of Realme 6, the Realme 7 has a 5,000mAh battery with the same 30W Dart Charging.
