Huawei Nova 4e is now official, will launch globally as P30 Lite

The Huawei P30 series is set to launch on March 26th, and today, the company’s launched the P30 Lite in China as the Huawei Nova 4e. We are assuming that the company would stick to its naming which means the Nova 4e would launch globally as the P30 Lite. If you recall, the Huawei Nova 4 launched in December last year which was one of the first phones to launch with a hole-punch display. The Nova 4 was a high-end flagship & the Nova 4e is a mid-ranger with triple cameras.

The Huawei Nova 4e comes with a premium look and feel, thanks to the glass back. Its main highlight is the triple camera setup on the back which is something that we don’t often see on mid-range phones. The fingerprint scanner is also placed on the rear.

It doesn’t retain the hole-punch screen from its bigger brother as the Nova 4e has a waterdrop notch on the front. There is also a noticeable bottom bezel which is not something surprising for a mid-range device. It is a good thing that the company added a USB Type-C port instead of the micro USB. The headphone jack is still there.

The Huawei Nova 4e features a 6.15-inch Full-HD+ IPS display (2312×1080) with a pixel density to 415PPI. There is no mention of any Gorilla Glass protection on the official site, so it is hard to say if the phone has any.

It is normal for Huawei to stick with the same processor for multiple phones in the same price segment and same is the case with the Nova 4e. It has the Kirin 710 processor (4 × Cortex-A73 2.2GHz + 4 × Cortex-A53 1.7GHz), and we have already seen this chip powering a lot of phones from Honor and Huawei in the mid-range segment. It is not a bad processor as it sits between the Snapdragon 636 and 660 when it comes to the performance.

There is 4/6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage that is expandable up to 512GB via micro SD card.

Coming to the cameras, there is a triple camera setup on the back that includes a primary 24MP wide-angle camera with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera (120-degree) and a third 2MP depth sensor. There is a single front camera of 32 Megapixels with f/2.0 aperture. The camera features include Wide Angle Mode, Aperture Mode, Super Night Mode, Portrait Mode, Pro Mode, Slow Motion and more.

The phone has a 3,340mAh battery underneath, and there is 18W Fast Charging as well (9V/2A). According to Huawei, the battery fully charges in 105 Minutes i.e, less than two hours.

The Huawei Nova 4e comes in three colors – Black, White & Gradient Blue. Coming to the pricing, the 4GB + 128GB variant is priced at 1,999 Yuan or $298 while the 6GB + 128GB variant at 2,299 Yuan or $342. The phone will go on sale in China starting March 21st.

It is expected to launch as the Huawei P30 Lite globally.
