The Honor Magic 6 & Magic 6 Pro were launched in January with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SOC and an impressive camera setup. Today, the brand launched the successors in China – Honor Magic 7 & Magic 7 Pro. These are premium flagship phones with top-of-the-line specifications. Interestingly, the pricing has not changed much from the Honor Magic 6 series. There is a 100 Yuan increase in price for the vanilla model, while the Magic 7 Pro has the same starting price as its predecessor.
HONOR MAGIC 7
Design-wise, the Honor Magic 7 has a similar circular camera module in the middle, but the arrangement of the cameras is different. The phone is IP68 and IP69-certified, and the front has a glass protection that is ten times more resistant to falls (compared to what? We don’t know!). This is the first smartphone in the world that has received a five-star certification from SGS for audio quality, so the speakers on this device are quite impressive.
Under the hood, the Honor Magic 7 has the Snapdragon 8 Elite SOC, and the phone has a large 5,650mAh battery. There is support for 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.
The display is a 6.78-inch 120Hz 1.5K LTPO OLED with a 5000 nits peak brightness and 1600 nits global peak brightness. There is 4320Hz PWM dimming, and the phone uses an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
In terms of cameras, the Honor Magic 7 has a triple camera setup on the rear. The primary camera has a 1.3″ 50MP sensor with an f/1.9 aperture and OIS. The ultrawide camera has a 50MP sensor with support for macro photography. The telephoto camera has a 50MP sensor with OIS and offers 3x optical zoom. Finally, the selfie shooter has a 50MP sensor with an f/2.0 lens. The phone can shoot 4K 60fps videos from the front and rear cameras.
Finally, the phone runs on MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15.
Honor Magic 7 comes in five colors, and here is the pricing for China –
- 12GB + 256GB – ¥4499 (~$630)
- 12GB + 512GB – ¥4799 (~$670)
- 16GB + 512GB – ¥4999 (~$700)
- 16GB + 1TB – ¥5499 (~$770)
HONOR MAGIC 7 PRO
The Honor Magic 7 Pro is not much different than the vanilla model in design. The only noticeable difference is on the front where the phone has a pill-shaped cutout for dual cameras instead of a tiny hole punch. The rear camera module has a periscope telephoto camera, hence a square-shaped lens.
The chipset is the same, and the battery is slightly larger than the vanilla model at 5,850mAh. The charging speeds are the same. The micro-curved display is slightly larger at 6.8-inch but the specifications are the same.
In terms of cameras, the biggest upgrade in the “Pro” model is the periscope telephoto camera that uses a 1/1.4″ 200MP sensor with an f/2.6 lens and offers a 3x optical zoom with OIS support. The primary camera has the same 1/1.3″ sensor but with a variable aperture lens (f/1.4-f/2.0). The ultrawide camera is the same.
On the front, there are two sensors – One is a 50MP sensor, and the other is a 3D face scanner that works at night.
The Honor Magic 7 Pro comes in four colors, and here is the pricing for China –
- 12GB + 256GB – ¥5699 (~$800)
- 16GB + 512GB – ¥6199 (~$870)
- 16GB + 1TB – ¥6699 (~$940)
